Environmental

India has an elaborate framework of environmental legislation, policy statements, rules and notifications. These
legal environmental principles are now being increasingly translated into meaningful action in different spheres
of society. This course has been designed to provide a perspective of environmental problems, management policies
and law. The course contains basic concepts of environment, its interdisciplinary perspective, air, water and
soil pollution, pollution control and waste management, biodiversity conservation, environment and industry, energy
and environment, energy economics and concept of sustainable development. Related policies, administrative
avenues for environmental enforcement and the legal aspects will also be tackled in the course.
