Admission
Deadlines
In collaboration with the Departments of Germanic and Romance Studies, Slavonic and Finno-Ugrian Studies, Persian,
Arabic and Modern Indian Languages University of Delhi, the College offers the Teaching of Part-Time Certificate,
Diploma and Advance Diploma Courses in the following languages:
1. French
2. German
3. Spanish
4. Italian
5. Russian
6. Persian
There are 50 seats in each section. A minimum of 20 students will be required to start a course.
Minimum Eligibility:
• 10+2 qualified
• There is no age bar
• Admission will be on the basis of merit. The cut-off for each course will be announced in July 2007
Important Information:
• Classes will be held in the College after 3:00 p.m.
• The Time-Table for each course shall be displayed on the Notice Board of the School
• Annual Examinations in each Language will be held in the Month of March, 2008 in the College
• The fees for each course will be Rs.4000/- per annum (non-refundable)
• Classes will commence on 1st August 2007
• Preference will be given to students of SFIL, Ramjas College for admission into Diploma and Advance Diploma
How to Apply:
The schedule for admission will be notified on the Notice Board of the School in the first week of July 2007.
Applicants are required to apply on a separate form available in the SFIL Handbook, which can be bought from
the office for Rs.50/-. The Handbook must be read carefully before admission is sought. The following documents
will be required at the time of admission:
• An attested copy of the Matriculation/Senior Secondary/SSC Certificate showing the Date of Birth and marks
obtained
• Recent passport size photograph
• Class XII Mark sheet
Attendance
A
minimum of 67
% attendance
is compulsory
to take the university
exam. Attendance
will be reviewed
each term and
notified. SFIL
facilities will
not be extended
to those falling
short of the
required attendance.
Academic
Discipline
No
student will
be permitted
to change sections
once s/he has
been admitted.
This is in the
students own
interest since
it is advisable
to follow the
pace set by the
teacher in the
initial classes.
The work plan
given out by
the teacher at
the Orientation
programme will
keep the students
informed about
the component
missed in case
of their absence.
Students will
be required to
make the effort
to catch up with
the rest of the
class when they
resume classes
after a period
of absence and
adjust to its
pace rather than
expect the class
to adjust to
theirs. Punctuality
is valued in
SFIL and students
will not be permitted
to enter a class
after 15 minutes
of the commencement
of the class.
College
Discipline
The
School and College
reserve the right
to take disciplinary
action against
any student found
violating College
discipline. This
includes expulsion
from the Course/College
and rustication
from the University.
SFIL
is under the
purview of the
College Complaints
Committee, constituted
under the provisions
of Ordinance
XV (D) of the
University of
Delhi, for the
Prohibition of
and Punishment
for Sexual Harassment
in the Work Place.
Identity
cards
Identity
cards are issued
to SFIL students
only to grant
entry to college
premises after
1pm and not for
any other purpose
whatsoever.
Bus
Pass
Admission
to the school
does not
ensure access
to bus pass
and other
travel concessions.
SFIL
does not
issue certificates
of bona
fide, character
and suchlike
to students
admitted
to part-time
courses.
Examination
forms
and
deadlines
The
calendar for
filling examination
forms and fees
will be notified
on the Notice
Board of the
SFIL. It will
be deemed the
students responsibility
to ensure that
exam forms are
completed, fees
paid and roll
numbers collected
well in time
to appear in
the examination.
