Admission to BA (Hons) English will be based on a written test of one-hour duration to be held in the College
on Thursday, 28
th
June 2007 between 10:00 AM and 11:00 AM. The weightage, based on University
guidelines, will be 70 marks for the Entrance Test and 30 marks for Class XII Board Examination ‘Best
Four’ aggregate. Different Eligibility Criteria for appearing in the Entrance Test for admission to English Honours

- Only one of any of the above five can be included in the best four subjects.
- The marks in the vocational subject included will be reduced by 10%, as against academic subjects

E: The following subjects will NOT be included amongst the best four subjects while calculating the aggregate
of applicants:
- Agriculture
- Home Science
- Entrepreneurship
- Engineering drawing
- Physical Education
F: Elective English will be considered a subject and not a language. Functional English will be treated at par
with English Core/Elective. It will be considered an academic subject.
G: Performance in the Entrance Test alone does not guarantee Admission to English Honours if the candidate
fails to fulfil other Admission criteria laid down by the College Staff Council and the University of Delhi.
