 "The Department has always been considered as a profound one through all these decades which has been acknowledged by various organizations, viz. Sanskrit Academy, Delhi Government, Sahitya Parishad, Delhi Government in 1992 and honoured the department with 'Mahavidyalaya Sanskrit Sewa Samman" Sanskrit It has begun its life in the College way back in 1917. It imparts teaching to students at B.A (Hons) and at M.A. level. The Department has always been considered as a profound one through all these decades which has been acknowledged by various organizations, viz. Sanskrit Academy, Delhi Government, Sahitya Parishad, Delhi Government in 1992 and honoured the department with ‘Mahavidyalaya Sanskrit Sewa Samman’. All the faculty members are participating in the co-operative teaching to the post-Graduate classes in the Faculty of Arts and also supervising research work of students leading to Doctoral degree.
