The Ramjas English Department is one of the oldest departments in Delhi University. The highly qualified faculty combines excellence in academic traditions and experience on the one hand with a dynamic and progressive outlook on the other. As a department we comprise members who are Ph.Ds. and M.Phils with research undertaken.
We believe in commitment to teaching and research in order to help develop the critical faculties of our students so that they can expand their intellectual horizons.
We have an atmosphere of interactive participation both in the classroom and in the organic corporate life of the Department. We complement our classroom teaching with a multi-faceted methodology. This endeavour includes a continually developing Departmental Library, the organization of seminars, and the ensuring of audio-visual facilities. We are proud of our Student Faculty Committee, a vigorous and independent forum, which is geared to strengthening our democratic and academic objectives. As a department, we believe, we are constantly evolving with invaluable inputs from our student body; an enterprise towards a mutually shared vision.
