Introduction

Academic rigour is enshrined in every act of ours. The College applies strict performance norms through intra-departmental initiatives and interaction. The faculty members and the Principal closely follow the continuous development and performance of each student in class, mid-term examinations and preceptorials. Each student is encouraged to participate in the active corporate life of college, as it now accounts for overall evaluation as per new university regulations. The College facilitates this process by assigning to each student, a tutor/faculty advisor who will be a philosopher, friend and guide. In order to meet the requirements of this personal contact programme, the College will have eight new rooms beginning from this new academic session.

Botany

The Department admits student for a 3 year degree course leading to B.Sc. (Hons.) in Botany. The admission is made on the basis of merit. The marks obtained at the +2 level in Physics, Chemistry & Biology decide the merit. The examination is conducted by the University every year as Part I, Part II and Part III examination. The Department has a rich herbarium. In collaboration with the Department of Zoology and Chemistry, the Department imparts teaching to students of B.Sc. Gen Group ‘B’ and B.Sc. Gen. Environmental Science Courses. During the year, the Department organizes study trips to various places of Botanical interest where from the students collect flora etc. for their studies and for herbarium.

The Department also enrolls students for M.Sc. Botany. It offers 5 seat in this course. Admission to M.Sc Botany is made centrally by the Faculty of Science, University of Delhi. The students of M.Sc. Botany are registered in the College. All the classes are held in the Department of Botany, University of Delhi.
