First Admission List for Undergraduate Courses 2008-2009

Read the following Instructions carefully:-

1. All the candidates who fall within the criteria are required to meet the concerned Department Teacher-in-Charge (Admission) between 10.00 A.M. to 1.00 P.M. on 27th, 28th & 30th June, 2008.

2. Candidates seeking admission should bring following Certificates in Original along with the Photocopy:-

(i) 10th Class Certificate/Marksheet as proof for Date of Birth.

(ii) 12th Class Mark Sheet.

(iii) Provisional Certificate.

(iv) Character Certificate/School Leaving Certificate.

(v) 4 Passport size Photographs.

(vi) Registration slip of the college or University centralized registration receipt.

(vi) OBC (Non-creamy layer) certificate for OBC candidate.

Where a candidate does not have an OBC Certificate (non-creamy layer) in his/her own name, the College will provisionally accept the OBC (non-creamy-layer) Certificate in his/her parent’s name together with a copy of receipt showing that the candidate has `applied for OBC – non-creamy layer Certificate’ in his/her own name and an undertaking from the candidate that he/she will submit OBC (non-creamy layer) Certificate in his/her own name before 16-7-2008. The admission shall be provisional, subject to the verification of the “OBC-non-creamy layer certificate” through the proper channel. If the verification reveals that the claim of the candidate(s) that he/she belongs to the OBC-non-creamy layer is false, the admission of such candidate(s) will be cancelled forthwith without prejudice to such further action as may be taken under the provisions of the Indian Penal Code for production of false certificate/undertaking.

Admission will not be made if the documents are incomplete.

3. Without original mark sheet admission will not be given to the candidate. No photocopy of the original marksheet will be accepted.

4. If the candidate offers the proof of date of birth in any official document the form may be accepted with an undertaking that he/she shall submit the Xth certificate within one week.

5. The Teacher-in-Charge must ensure the three Admission forms, Declaration forms, Enrolment forms etc., must signed by the applicant.

6. The Teacher-in-Charge shall sign all the three admission forms.

7. No overwriting/cutting/fluid is allowed on the Admission Forms. If such things happen, student has to fill the forms afresh.

8. For the calculation of marks in best four subjects, the candidate may include English/Hindi/Sanskrit or any other modern Indian language.

9. For Gap year cases, students must submit an Affidavit declaring that they have not taken admission in any College or University of they have not failed in any course. They have to produce this affidavit within two working days. Otherwise their admission will be cancelled. The students of Ramjas College who have failed or dropped out will not be admitted in the same course again.

  3. Vocational subjects are to be considered which has relevance to the subjects offered as an application course in B.A.(P) III year. However not more than two vocational subjects will be considered.

Additional Information for Admission to B.A. (Hons) English

1. The qualifying language will be English Core/Functional/Elective for calculating the aggregate of the best four subjects.

2. One vocational subject may be entered as an academic subject. The department will consider only one of the following subjects as Vocational:

Fine Arts
Dance
Music
Computer Science
Informatic Practices

However, a reduction of 5% in the subject marks will be applied to a vocational subject, as per the decision of the Staff Council.

3. The department will consider Environmental Education, which is a compulsory paper of 100 marks in the ISC exam, as an academic subject in calculating the best four subject aggregate.

4. An additional language, apart from English, may be entered as an academic subject.

5. Elective/Alternative English may be entered as an academic subject, if it has not been entered as the qualifying language course.

  3. The eligibility of applicants with subjects from more than one of the streams (i.e., Sciences, Commerce, Humanities/Arts) among their best 4 subjects will be determined by adjusting their marks in the non-Humanities/Arts papers in accordance with the criteria for the Humanities/Arts.
